Lisa Sledge grew up in Washington State and moved to Utah in 2001 to attend Brigham Young University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English and was a junior high school teacher for four years. Life happened, as it always does, and Lisa was a single mother when she decided to go to law school. Lisa attended the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah from 2016-2019. She was nominated by her peers to be the Vice President of the Business Law Society and received an Outstanding Achievement Award for her skills in legal writing. An avid Lord of the Rings fan, when Lisa talks about her experience attending law school as a single mother, she often says, “It was like climbing Mount Doom, without a Samwise, and two children on my back.” Although it was difficult, Lisa also believes that her decision to go to law school, including the daily decision not to give up, was the right choice for herself and for her family.

After graduating law school, Lisa became a successful business law attorney. In 2021, Lisa was recognized by the SJ Quinney Law School for her work as the founder of a nonprofit organization supporting single mother college students. Realizing that her passion lies in serving and protecting families, Lisa left the corporate world and joined CoilLaw in 2023.

Lisa is both tough and empathetic. She believes that happy families come in many different forms, new dreams can replace old dreams, and every problem has a workable solution.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys summer backpacking trips in the Uintas, spending time with family and friends, and taking care of her many pets.
