Associate Attorney

Maelle Dieffenbach

Maelle (mai  el) Dieffenbach was born and raised in Arles, France. Wanting to see the world, when the opportunity to move to the United States after high school presented itself, she did not hesitate and embarked on her immigration journey. She first went to Pennsylvania to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Lycoming College. While there she had the opportunity to intern with Lycoming County Public Defender, and to start taking legal writing classes. All these experiences helped confirm her long-held desire to become an attorney.

In 2018, she moved to Illinois to attend law school at the University of Illinois. During law school she participated in Moot Court in which she was awarded Best Respondent Brief, and eventually became one of the coaches for the competition. She also spent most of her law school time volunteering and interning with a non-profit organization providing legal services to low-income immigrants. Maelle took the Utah Bar Exam in July 2021 and joined CoilLaw a few months later.

In her free time, she loves to travel and explore the outdoors with her husband and dog. If not outside, she can usually be found cooking and baking some authentic French meals.

Education:

Lycoming College (B.A, magna cum laude, 2018)

University of Illinois College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2021)
