Jill L. Coil was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated with honors from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctorate in Houston Texas at Texas Southern University where she met and married her husband. She is dually licensed in both Texas and Utah where she has focused her practice on Family and Criminal Law. Jill founded CoilLaw in December of 2014 with the goal of empathizing, protecting, and advocating for families through legal representation.  She has received many awards in Utah for her on-going work in family law cases and her advocation for her clients.  She is actively engaged in her community through volunteer work and is a participant in the Family Bar Section in Utah and Texas. She is a mother of four and when not fighting for her clients, Jill loves to watch movies and travel with her family to Disneyland.

Austin G. Dominguez was born and raised in Utah and calls Pleasant Grove his hometown. After graduating high school, he went on to study at Southern Utah University, where he served as vice president of his fraternity, Chi Phi. He later completed his undergraduate degree in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism at Utah Valley University, with the objective of helping give a voice to those who might not otherwise be heard by telling their stories. After graduation, Austin worked at a public defense firm in Utah, where he realized he wanted to do more to help others and saw no better way than taking the next step to become an attorney.

Austin went on to study at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. During law school, he developed experience in areas that frequently intersect with family law, including guardianships, conservatorships, and estate planning. This background gives him a broader perspective when helping clients navigate long-term family and financial considerations. Additionally, while in school, Austin served on the executive council of the Gender Sexuality Alliance and as President of the Energy & Environmental Sustainability Law Society.

Austin is currently admitted to practice law in Nebraska and Utah. He is dedicated to continuing his professional growth within the Utah legal community and to serving clients with diligence both in and out of the courtroom. Austin is committed to providing thoughtful, client-centered advocacy and understands that family law cases often involve both legal complexity and significant emotional stress. He strives to guide clients through difficult transitions with clarity, professionalism, and practical solutions.

Outside of the office, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their pet pug, Gracie. When he is not at home with his family, Austin can often be found in the mountains hiking, out painting, attending concerts, or looking for additional ways to serve his neighborhood.

Samantha E. Frazier is an Associate Attorney at CoilLaw, LLC in private practice. Samantha is a native Texan. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law Houston. Samantha’s practice encompasses the representation of a diverse client base in the resolution of complex legal disputes. Her practice covers various Family Law legal issues, including child custody, divorce, adoptions, and child support enforcement. Samantha fervently tries cases to verdict in state court, the bench, and juries. Samantha practiced Family Law in Texas for over a decade, then moved to Utah in 2021. Samantha has practiced Family Law in Utah since 2021. She currently serves clients in both Texas
and Utah.

Samantha believes that “Paying it Forward” is the only way to be successful in life and that giving back to the community is fundamental to making a difference. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Utah State Bar. Jennifer Johnson grew up in Nebraska and Utah. Jennifer graduated from Utah State University with a B.S. with Honors in Psychology in 1994 and graduated as Valedictorian of the Psychology Department. She graduated with her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2000. In law school, Jennifer volunteered at the Utah Office of Guardian ad Litem, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah, the Utah State Legislature, and Utah Legal Services. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Utah.

Jennifer practiced family law and administrative law following law school at Utah Legal Services. She then took a lengthy career break to raise and educate her children full-time. Subsequently, Jennifer participated in the Return Utah program, employed as an Investigator for the Utah Discrimination and Labor Division, and later returned to the practice of law at Utah Legal Services.

Jennifer understands the sacrifices required to be there for your children, the challenges encountered in family life, and coping when plans change. She strives to be a compassionate support, a good listener, and a zealous advocate for her clients.

Gabi was raised in neighboring Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and completed her undergraduate education at Utah Valley University. During her undergrad, Gabi started UVU’s first anarchist club, interned for a Utah Senator, completed a study abroad program in Nice, France, and volunteered for the small claims court as a mediator. She also met her husband and got married at the tender age of twenty. After much convincing from her political science professors, Gabi decided to attend law school.

She graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law, located in Eugene, Oregon in 2019. During law school, Gabi interned for the American Civil Liberties Association of Utah, externed for the Honorable Judge Ann Aiken of the U.S. District Court of Oregon, and gave birth to her son, Atticus. After law school, Gabi moved back to Utah to be closer to family and to serve the people of her home state. She began her legal career providing low-cost legal services to low income and at-risk populations all over the state of Utah.

Gabi is currently a Managing Attorney for CoilLaw. Gabi is also a Private Guardian ad Litem and an active member of the AFCC. She is an empathetic and passionate advocate for her clients. Gabi has a twin brother, loves Harry Potter and Jane Austen, enjoys escape rooms, and travels as much as possible.

Savanah Lawrence is a native of Southern Utah, where she graduated concurrently from high school and Dixie State College in 2006. She then went on to pursue her Bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University and continued her education at BYU, where she graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2015.

After law school, Savanah spent two years in Washington, D.C. as a human rights attorney, advocating for victims of sex trafficking.  In 2017, Savanah returned to Utah to pursue a career in family law. Savanah is dedicated to assisting families and individuals in all areas of the law.  She is a strong advocate for justice and understands the sensitive needs of her clients.

Savanah also has many interests outside of the legal profession.  She’s a mom of a rambunctious toddler and enjoys watching him thrive and grow. She’s also an avid world traveler, having lived in Jerusalem, Uganda, and South Korea. She loves to stay physically active: playing soccer, hiking, and power lifting – her PR for the back squat is 225 pounds! Savanah also loves learning languages and is an avid reader and audio book listener.

T.R. Morgan grew up in Northern Utah playing high school basketball, winning at board games, and watching tv when he wasn’t reading. After serving an LDS mission to Brazil, he attended the University of Utah and graduated with a political science degree. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the SJ Quinney School of Law. During law school, T.R. worked full-time with the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner and legal intern. T.R. started his legal career working with renowned Ogden Attorney Bob Echard, and, after a few years, started his own general law practice. T.R. has litigation experience in most areas of law, specializing in family law and probate.

Most recently, T.R. served as a Domestic Relations Commissioner in the Second Judicial District Court. His experience wearing the black robe gave him the opportunity to interact with and guide litigants and attorneys through the Shakespearian tempest that domestic litigation can be, presiding over more than 10,000 hearings. He is most proud of, and grateful for, the high marks he received from attorneys during his annual reviews.

T.R. met his wife in high school and started dating after graduation. They have been married since 1997 and have five children. Outside of the office, T.R. enjoys traveling, cheering for the Utes, and watching and discussing tv and movies. For a few years, he was part-owner of an all-ages live music venue, “The Basement.” T.R. is committed to CoilLaw and its ever-increasing standards: he is thrilled to be given the opportunity to grow, transform, and learn from CoilLaw’s diverse and inclusive team.

T.R. Morgan’s Full Bio

Stephen J. Oliphant joined Coil Law, LLC after managing his own criminal defense practice in Salt Lake City. Stephen has broad experience working with clients on criminal, family, and domestic issues and consistently gets favorable results in court. A native of North Carolina, Stephen came to Utah for his education and the outdoors.

Before law school, Stephen had a knack for politics—working in Congress, managing a Senate race in Utah, and lobbying for small businesses. During law school, Stephen pursued many experiences such as teaching high school civics classes, working with displaced refugees through the citizenship process, interning for a Utah judge, and participated in Moot Court in which he was awarded Best Brief.

Since being with CoilLaw, LLC, Stephen receives consistently favorable settlement and trial results for our clients. Stephen is experienced and aggressive in court but understands that crafting solutions for clients often gets the best results and reduces ongoing family conflict.

Stephen recently married his wife Nysse who is a farm manager at a local farming high school. The two are outdoor and weekender enthusiasts who enjoy climbing, biking, and skiing throughout the Mountain West.

Luke A. Shaw was raised in an Air Force family, but primarily raised in Spokane, WA. After serving an LDS mission in upstate New York, he pursued an undergraduate degree in Business Management. After some time working with his brother’s family law practice in Grand Rapids, MI, he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from Michigan State University College of Law. After graduation, he found himself in Arizona where he joined the Arizona State Bar and married his wife.

Luke Shaw joined the Utah State Bar in 2015 and joined COIL LAW shortly thereafter. Since that time, he has been an active member of the Family Law Section of the Utah State Bar. He has dedicated his efforts to ensure the best interests of his clients are served in and out of the courtroom. When he is not advocating for his clients, Luke spends his time with his wife, son, and two dogs travelling and supporting Michigan State University Athletics.

Kris Brown is a Senior Paralegal with CoilLaw, joining the firm in July of 2018. Her experience and duties provide litigation support to the CoilLaw attorneys. She assists with preparation and filing of pleadings, correspondence with clients, preparation of discovery, organization of case files and trial preparation, scheduling and calendaring hearings and mediation and preparing financial declarations. Prior to joining CoilLaw, Kris served as a senior paralegal for two major law firms in Washington, D.C. and another in Portland, Oregon with the intellectual property practice group. She earned her paralegal certificate from the Washington Online Learning Institute, under graduate from the University of Utah and Associate Degree from College of Eastern Utah. She is a member of the National Paralegal Association (NALA).

In her spare time, Kris enjoys traveling, scrapbooking and quilting. Most of all she loves spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren as often as possible.

Stephanie Christiansen has been working in the legal field in various capacities for over 15 years. She started working for CoilLaw in April of 2022 as a paralegal. Stephanie is currently attending school to obtain a paralegal degree and will be finished in the Spring of 2023. She grew up a little all over the place, which led to her desire to see as much of the world as she can. She is a newlywed and is now the proud stepmom to her husband’s two children and Nana to her two grandbabies.

Courtney was born and raised in Southern California before eventually making Utah her home. She has over five years of experience as an estate planning paralegal, assisting with wills, trusts, probate, and guardianships. Her experience helping families through major life transitions inspired her to pursue family law, where she approaches each case with empathy, precision, and care.

Courtney also co-founded Vigilante Legal, a consumer advocacy initiative created in response to the 2022 Eras Tour ticketing fiasco with Ticketmaster. Through the organization, she helped coordinate and document more than 1,200 fan submissions outlining discrimination and accessibility concerns, which led to a formal complaint filed with the Federal Trade Commission. Her work through Vigilante Legal earned her a feature in the Salt Lake Tribune and a mention on Wikipedia.

Courtney earned her Paralegal Certificate from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and is pursuing her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. She is a member of the Utah State Bar Paralegal Division, the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association, and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).

Outside of work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her wife, reading, watching Thai dramas and live theater, and cross-stitching—lovingly outnumbered by her four cats and one dog.

Allison was raised in Dallas, TX and moved to Utah in 2002. Allison brings a unique combination of professional experience and understanding to her role as a paralegal.  After navigating her own difficult divorce as a mother of three, Allison learned firsthand the emotional complexities families face during legal proceedings. That experience pushed Allison to begin working in family law in 2019, where she discovered her passion for supporting clients through life’s most challenging transitions. Her personal experience shaped Allison’s guiding principles: being present for every client and providing unwavering support through each stage of the process.

In her free time, Allison successfully manages two online retail businesses while prioritizing time with her children and rescue dog.

Erin Rosado is a Paralegal at CoilLaw. Among other tasks, Erin helps keep track of deadlines, keeps documents and files organized, schedules meetings, mediations, and court dates, finalizes and files documents with the court, produces discovery, and ensures that clients have complete and accurate records of filings with the court. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Utah and has worked in litigation for over 12 years. She is a hard worker, and as a single mom herself, brings empathy and dedication to helping clients through the turbulence of domestic litigation.
