Chris M. Stephens

Chris M. Stephens was born and raised in Camarillo, California. He served a mission in St. Petersburg, Russia, and then pursued a degree in Political Science from the University of Utah. He met his wife and was married right before starting law school at the University of Idaho. While in law school, two of his children were born, and he had back surgery during his last year there.

After graduation, he returned to Utah, where he joined the Utah State Bar in 2012. He spent some time doing discovery work for large law firms before starting in family law. In 2023, Chris started working exclusively in family law, and he joined CoilLaw in 2026. He finds family law exciting because you are helping everyday people and can see the impact your work has on their lives. When he is not helping his clients, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
