Laura Nelson is an Associate Attorney with CoilLaw. Originally from Idaho and raised in Oregon, she now calls Utah home. Laura earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from Brigham Young University, with a focus in family law, government policies, and marital finances.

Laura completed her Juris Doctorate through Mitchell Hamline School of Law’s executive hybrid program, graduating magna cum laude. She earned certifications in Law and Business and Conflict Resolution: Theory and Practice, a nationally ranked program. Laura joined the Utah State Bar in 2024 and joined CoilLaw shortly thereafter. She participates in the Family Law Section and volunteers with the Pro Se Debt Calendar, dedicated to educating and empowering clients as they navigate life transitions.

Laura resides in Kaysville with her husband and four children. In her free time, she enjoys pickleball, sailing, triathlons, and organizing adventure retreats, including an annual women’s backpacking trip in the Tetons.
