CoilLaw is proud to have 4 attorneys selected to be on the 2021 Super Lawyers Mountain States Rising Stars list! Jill Coil, Steve Oliphant, Luke Shaw, and Savanah Lawrence have distinguished themselves in their legal practices and are recognized on the Super Lawyers list, which is limited to just the top 2.5% of Utah attorneys.

The Selection Process

The selection process used by Super Lawyers is designed to evaluate thousands of lawyers to produce a truthful list of the best attorneys in 70 different practice areas. In 2021, most of our clients found our firm on the internet which is why there is so much value in each year’s Super Lawyers list. To make the list, people must be nominated by someone other than themselves. They are measured against 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. And those finally selected must be in the top 5%, are 40 years old or younger, and have been in practice 10 years or less.

We Are Proud to Employ 4 Rising Stars!

Jill Coil

Jill L. Coil is a divorce attorney licensed in both Texas and Utah. She has created and grown one of the largest family law firms in the state of Utah. She has spent the last decade recognizing the support needed for people going through a divorce and studying the best ways to do that, which is why she also founded the legal tech company, SimpleEndingTM, which provides an alternative route to creating quality divorce documents without needing to retain an attorney.

Jill takes pride in giving back and donates her time through the State Bar and takes on Guardian Ad Litem cases, pro bono. She also has a college scholarship and mentorship program through her nonprofit, the Coil Foundation. She is a motivational speaker and is on a mission to ensure that people feel empowered in their own lives to understand their self-worth and then be able to empower others. She is the author of the upcoming book No One Dies from Divorce and the executive producer of a docuseries with the same name.

Jill lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her husband, Ryan, and their four children, Lexi, Max, Paxton, and Moxie.
