Family Law Attorney

Alex Maynez

Alex Maynez was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, but was raised in Burbank, California.  He attended the University of Southern California and majored in Public Administration, graduating cum laude.  He worked for the City of Los Angeles and the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Leaving the big city he moved his small family to attend the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.  He interned with the Colorado Rural Legal Services providing legal assistance to numerous migrant farmworkers in Southeastern Colorado.  Shortly after graduation he worked with migrant farmworkers in Utah, specifically assisting them in ensuring quality education for their kids while they were in the fields and providing legal assistance and representation in labor disputes,  landlord tenant issues, criminal matters, and almost anything else they brought through the door whether municipal, administrative, state, or federal forums.

Alex has over 25 years of representing clients in every aspect of family law, including annulment, separation, paternity, modification, enforcement, or dissolution of marriage.  Alex is committed to ensuring that children enjoy their childhood, and he diligently works toward assisting his clients in this life-changing transition by protecting their and their child’s future.

Alex and his wife are committed to raising hardy, happy, well-adjusted kids and grandkids. He currently has five grandchildren, which are the highlight of his existence. Alex raised his family in Utah County, and they have enjoyed Utah’s famous snow by being members of the ski team.  All his kids are accomplished swimmers and water polo players.  Alex and his wife enjoy traveling, barbecuing outside in the winter, cycling, scootering, and raising Hawai’ian plumerias.  Alex served as a proselyting missionary in Idaho.  His kids tease him because they say he did not serve a “real” mission.  His kids have served in Brazil, Ecuador, and Honduras.
